Lord God,whose days are without end and whose mercies beyond counting,
keep us mindful that life is short and the hour of death unknown.
Let your Spirit guide our days on earth in the ways of holiness and justice,
that we may serve you in union with the whole Church,
sure in faith, strong in hope, perfect in love. And when our earthly journey is ended,
lead us rejoicing into your kingdom, where you live forever and ever.
AMEN

A Fond Farewell to Fr McGoldrick and Fr Lynch who left the parish.

Fr Lynch’s stay with us was short but eventful, and we thank him for his service in Castlefin.

Fr McGoldrick was with us for the past twenty years and has shared many happy, and indeed many sad times during his time here – we will miss him.

We wish them every happiness and ask God’s blessing on all their future endeavours.

And A Warm Welcome to Fr Porter and Fr Crilly as they take up their new posts with us.

We welcome them among us and hope they will be happy in the parish – Fr Porter as PP in Doneyloop and Fr Crilly as Priest in Residence in Castlefin.

We look forward to getting to know them – may God be kind to them.

_____ Fr. Desmond Polke ____

Requiescat In Pace
We were all greatly saddened by the unexpected death of Fr Polke on 21st May last.
Fr Polke had served in the parish for the past 18 years, as curate from 1995 until 2011,

and then as Priest in Residence from 2011until his death.
He was held in great affection by our parish community,

and we are grateful for his ministry among us as a priest,

and also for his characteristic wit and humour.
His death is a loss to us all and we commend his soul to God.
